The cooperation zone donates cholera prevention materials to Qibangbu

On the morning of February 12, 2024, Zambia's Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone donated cholera prevention materials to the Qibangbu region. The administrative head of Qibangbu region, Lloyd Kayeka, the mayor of Qibangbu city, Newton Naledi, and the general manager of the cooperation zone, Xu Jianfeng, attended the donation ceremony.

General Manager Xu Jianfeng stated at the donation ceremony that China Zambia relations have a long history, and sharing weal and woe and helping each other are the bright colors of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The cooperation zone has always adhered to the concept of "people to people communication", timely extended a helping hand to Zambia in fighting against the cholera epidemic, provided necessary medical supplies and daily necessities to the local area, helped Zambian people prevent cholera, slowed down the spread of the epidemic, and emerged from the haze as soon as possible. The cooperation zone will continue to support the development of the Qibangbu region through attracting foreign investment, promoting local employment, and other means, pushing bilateral relations to a higher level and jointly writing a new chapter of China Zambia friendship.
In his speech, the head of the Qibangbu regional government, Lloyd Kayeka, expressed gratitude to the Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone of Zambia for its strong support to the Qibangbu government and people in their fight against cholera. China has brought many developments to Zambia, and the Zambia Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone project has solved the employment problem of a large number of local people and provided a broad market for local farmers. We are willing to work together with the cooperation zone to achieve common development.
Niudun Naledi, the mayor of Qibangbu District, said that the friendship between China and Zambia has a long and lasting history. The generous assistance of the Chinese government and enterprises has effectively controlled the cholera epidemic in Zambia, and the number of cholera infections is decreasing. The active donations from the cooperation zone will help respond to this emergency situation and achieve the early elimination of the cholera epidemic.
