Park positioning
The Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone in Zambia strives to become a demonstration park for international production capacity cooperation between China and Zambia, and to build an important characteristic agricultural product industrial park, mechanical processing manufacturing and logistics base in Southeast Africa along the "Belt and Road Initiative" route. Comprehensive industrial park on the T2 Highway Economic Corridor in Zambia.
The functional orientation of the park integrates industry, trade, logistics and comprehensive services, and has complete facilities for leisure and entertainment, medical education and life, so as to create a new ecological city with the characteristics of Sino-Zambian cooperation and in line with the needs of Zambia's economic development.
With the help of Zambia's resource advantages and market demand, the park strives to build a "5 3 N" industrial system. Focus on the five main directions of agricultural and forestry product processing, electromechanical equipment, green energy, building materials production, and mining and metallurgy; expand the introduction of three major industries: medical, food and clothing; timely introduction of logistics, warehousing, consulting, commerce, finance and other "N" parks Service supporting industries.
Land situation in the park
The Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone in Zambia currently has two plots of land totaling 2389 hectares, of which the Zambian government has allocated 300 hectares of land and purchased 2089 hectares of land by local private farmers. The plot allocated by the government covers an area of 300 hectares and is located in Kamilanga, north of Lusaka, about 45km away from Kaunda Hero Stadium in Lusaka, and about 2.3km away from T2 (Da Bei Road) Road of National Highway in the north.
The private farm covers an area of 2089 hectares and is located in Qibambu City, Central Province. It is 88 kilometers away from Lusaka Hero Gymnasium and 42 kilometers away from Kabwe, the capital of Central Province. The T2 Highway (Da Bei Road), Zambia's north-south economic corridor, runs through the area. There are railway lines and large substations within a radius of 23 kilometers. The transportation location is superior.
Project Progress
In September 2018, during the visit of President Lungu of Zambia to Jiangxi, Jiangxi Province and the Zambian government jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation on the construction of investment economic zones in Zambia; on November 21, 2018, the Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Zone of Zambia successfully held a groundbreaking ceremony. The President of Zambia and the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia personally attended and delivered speeches. The success of the groundbreaking ceremony attracted great attention from all walks of life, and major Zambian and domestic media also competed to report. April 2019, the Permanent Secretary of the Central Province of Zambia signed a memorandum of cooperation to support the construction of the economic zone at the "Belt and Road" summit in Beijing; in May 2019, the project officially entered the construction phase. In April 2021, the cooperation zone and the Zambian government signed the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement; on June 11, 2021, the Zambian government officially issued the Jiangxi Multifunctional Economic Zone license, which also indicates that the construction of the park and the enterprises entering the park will enjoy the Zambian government. The preferential fiscal and tax policies of the multi-functional zone issued. On October 13, 2023, Zambian President Hitchilema and Executive Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province Ren Qomolangma unveiled the cooperation zone, and the main facilities of the cooperation zone were officially put into use.

Investment and Project Progress
The main construction of the park has been completed, with a comprehensive office building with a construction area of 10000 square meters, a road backbone network in the 6-kilometer start-up area, three factory areas covering a total area of 100000 square meters, six light steel structure factories each of 4500 square meters and a road service area of 2500 square meters. As of October 2023, all major facilities in the park have been put into use.

Investment situation
The investment goal of the park is mainly based on the local resources of Zambia, the use of foreign capital, equipment and technology, and the Zambian government's export preferential policies for the multi-functional economic zone to produce products in Zambia and export-oriented enterprises outside Zambia. The industry is mainly concentrated in light industry, including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry production and processing, mineral products processing, electrical equipment, building materials production, green energy and other light industry industries.
Under the guidance of the direction of investment promotion, with the unremitting efforts of the company's investment promotion team, more than 20 domestic and foreign enterprises are currently being approached. As of December 2023, there are 8 projects that have signed investment and admission agreements, with a total planned investment of US $0.11 billion. There are: golden Eagle Tobacco Planting and Processing Project (US $25 million), Abena Solar Power Station (US $50 million), Jiangxi Fenglin Pine Oil Processing Plant (US $15 million), Mufutuli Quarry (US $1.7 million), Mufutuli Brick Making Plant (US $300000), Zantes Power Equipment Assembly Plant (US $7 million), Xiamen Beiteli Automobile Battery and Energy Storage (US $13 million), Zambia Leaf Tobacco Cigarette Processing Project (US $3 million).
Since the start of the construction, the cooperation zone has actively carried out publicity and promotion in China and Zambia. At present, in addition to many enterprises in Jiangxi, a large number of enterprises in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangzhou and some local enterprises in Zambia are actively contacting and negotiating. Some enterprises are preparing to set up an inspection group, some enterprises have clearly expressed their intention to enter the park, and all shareholder units are also actively preparing relevant supporting projects to enter the park.
Supporting Services
The park creates "three connections and one leveling" entry conditions, establishes office, business services, logistics, medical, fire protection, training, catering, entertainment and other supporting facilities, and provides workshops, warehouses, and industrial land for rent or sale. The park management committee provides one-stop service for enterprises entering the park, guides enterprises to apply for investment and work permits, enterprise registration and registration, etc., and provides policy and legal consultation, bank financing services, and coordination with local governments and agencies for intermediary services.
Development goal of industrial cooperation zone
(1) Output value target
In the near future to 2025, the start-up area will be basically completed, and the annual industrial output value is expected to be about 0.32 billion US dollars; in the long term to 2035, the industrial construction of the new industrial zone will be completed, and the annual industrial output value is expected to be about 1 billion US dollars.
(2) Employment objectives
It is estimated that 6000 jobs will be provided by 2025 and 20000 jobs will be provided by 2035.
Scale of Industrial Cooperation Zone
(1) Land use scale
The short-term (2025) land use plan of the park is 150 hectares. The medium-term (2035) land use scale is 570 hectares;
(2) Scale of investment
The planned investment in the start-up area is 0.15 billion US dollars, and the 570-hectare industrial cooperation zone is expected to invest 0.6 billion US dollars.
(3) Size of employed population
It is estimated that 6,000 jobs will be created by 2025 and 20,000 by 2035.
Development stage plan
Phase I (2019-2025)
The initial stage of the industry: complete the construction of the start-up area, focus on the development of labor-intensive industries focusing on the processing of agricultural and sideline products, the production and processing of building materials, etc., and support the development of warehousing and logistics, gas stations, and commercial services based on commercial streets to attract more The labor force gathered in the park.

Phase IV (2036-)
Industry-city integration stage: The industrial system structure of the park is reasonable, and the construction of the park is based on the characteristic agricultural product industry and processing and manufacturing industry. The park and the Chibombo urban area have been basically integrated, which promotes the improvement of supporting facilities in the urban area and the improvement of the living standards of local residents. And attract more and more people to move into the urban area to meet the conditions for the construction of urban commercial and residential new areas.
